Steady on FTC, I've always found Peter's posts very informative and very well balanced. Like many other people here recently he has be pissed off with the lunatic fringe but his response has been to simply ignore them.

'fraid I don't agree with you either that, "There is so much pretentious bollocks going on it is no surprise that the 'old guard' seldom post here anymore." Apart from contributions from the lunatic fringe, I've thought the quality of both posts and the replies they generated to be of a very high order indeed (something remarked on by Peter recently).

I'm not sure who this 'old guard' is that you refer to but if they have something of value to contribute there is nothing whatsoever to stop them doing so (and no-one is forcing them to read 'pretentious bollocks' if they don't want to. This forum is, after all, what it's contributors make of it.
