Fair enough. Although, I don't fully agree with this bit:

I don't see any meeting of minds or mutual learning if the "alternative" views are beyond a certain level of rationality. I doubt for instance that Mr Denke has ever convinced anyone to re-think their position. Equally, I shouldn't think anyone has been persuaded about lizards.
Dowsing on the other hand, I personally have been influenced by what's said here. But only by those who are intellectually "grounded", not those who aren't.
