>Canon EOS 500N SLR, and as of this coming Friday, a Sony Cybershot DSC P200 - joining the digital revolution :) <

I got one of those Sony P200 jobbies this summer :-)
I like it, though the colour sometimes looks a bit lack-lustre. Suppose it can be rectified in Photoshop. I like the 'manual' setting, good for pics of moving water and the like. The lens is a Zeiss too, not bad for the dosh :-)
It fits in a jacket pocket, and you can get an adapter to use filters; great for the casual amateur who takes pics whilst out walking like me.
The 7 megapixels give great clarity, often better than my old Pentax compact.

yeh, it looks like a decent camera - smaller than my wallet (especially now!) so I can carry it around all the time. I wanted to get 7 megapixels so that I could get the highest resolution pics before the prices start going silly. the Sony's just come down to 200 quid, which is alright. just

I saw the filter adapters - there's also a wide angle lens which could be interesting too. I think I'll still use my SLR when I'm taking a bag cycling or walking, but having a pocket-sized camera is what I wanted too

Cheers
Andy
