Bowing Out

Yes - that is how I see it. FW did a magnificent job finding, photographing and cataloguing megalithic Ireland. When that job was complete (or pretty nearly) there had to be a reaction and perhaps a feeling of staleness or anti-climax. It is temporary I'm certain and there is no point in forcing things.

In no way do I want to put words in FW's mouth, but interest can lead to passion which developes into obsession and then compulsion - Unfortunately at that point it can become a chore and a burden rather than a labour of love. Then its good to back off and do something different. I did because there came a time, when I was photo editor on the Portal, that I simply stopped visiting megalithic sites and groaned at the hundreds of photos that came before me every week. I haven't taken a megalithic photo for well over a year now. Not a problem.
