I guess I am suggesting that at least some of the rock art boats are wooden hulled.
These boats even have the suggestion of a mast

Yes those do look like plank built boats and with a mast, I guess that they would have to be wooden and with a keel to lock the mast in place.

Somewhere I have seen reconstruction models of skin boats very much like the Scandinavian rock pictures. I will dig around.
