Orkney seems overladen with standing stones but these are only a portion of what may still be. The Kethis Goe Stone in Stenness (Kethesgeo Stone HY30351136, alignment http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/32109), whose position was (??is) marked by a peg, came from five feet below ground level with socket still in place. Is this a record depth ?

Is that the top of the stone or original groundlevel?
