I always think Ireland had a very Pagan-friendly conversion to Christianity, so much less confrontation and so much more amalgamation.

There's a shrine cut into a rock outcrop not far from Avoca, I've not had chance to stop and look at it properly yet it always reminds me of an anciently revered place being incorporated into the new ways, not as so often happened in England, being destroyed as "evil"
