Must admit to mixed views. If it hadn't been dug up, would it have been eroded/destroyed etc in its exposed position? Perhaps by removing it and preserving it, due reverence is being paid to those who put it there and to their beliefs? (No I don't think stones should be removed)

So they said. Must admit, assuming that was true & esp as it was the first thang of its kind that was found, I just about came down on the side of 'remove it' myself. Twas a decision I wouldn't've wanted to make tho.
