It's just a pity that you're only on the GCSE archaeology beginners level when it comes to seeing a newly-made cairn from an old one.

Thanks - my former history tutor would probably agree with you. Here's a link to the closest I came to an archaeology teacher ( http://www.24hourmuseum.org.uk/nwh_gfx_en/ART29307.html ), ie N.U. mainstream. He has an impeccable sense of humour, a colourful ancestor ( http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/brittaniae.html ) but, sadly, a Roman way of building in stone.

Here's a link to some drystone work that is almost identically the same style as 'David's Cairns'( http://www.charles-tait.co.uk/library/archaeology/orkney/skara/pages/skarastreet2770_600_jpg.htm ). Search under 'Holymire' for something to really pull to pieces ...
