Excellent blogs - fascinating stuff that makes me even MORE desperate to get over there!!!!!

All your musings also seem eminently sensible to me. As well as the connections you made, the concentric circles around the cist at Necropili de Li Muri also reminded me a bit of Yellowmead http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/1299.

Funnily enough, we had an elephant-shaped rock pointed out to us in Jordan between Petra and 'Little Petra'. It wasn't a patch on the Sardinian one tho - not as elephantlike and altho pretty big, not really big enough for rock-cut chambers etc....

Any more to come?

cheers for the comments and it's good to see Jane & yourself back safe & sound. I look forward to reading about your travels.
Yeh I got a couple more blogs to post, one on the dolmens and one on the Nuraghe & Nuraghic temple but I've sort of gone off the boil. I guess I'll have to pull my finger out
