This sounds really interesting...

Someone emailed me with this info about an event called "The future of sound" at The Royal Institution of Great Britain in London: "Paul Devereux is talking on Thursday 22nd September. Tickets cost £8, £5 for Ri Members and concessions."

A snippet from http://www.rigb.org/rimain/calendar/detail.jsp?&id=215 is:

"The field of archeoacoustics will make an appearance as well, asking how ancient peoples optimised the acoustics of their sites. Many of the artists add digital visual elements to their work, making this event a feast for the eyes as well as the ears.

Speakers already confirmed include: Brian Barritt, Flinton Chalk and Paul Devereux - their presentation will focus on the acoustics of ancient sites."

Sounds really interesting!

"Unfortunately" (hahahahahahhahahahahaahahhahaaahaahaahahaaaaa!!!!!!!!!) I'll be in the Western Isles (woo-hoo!) so I'll miss it, but would be interested to hear from anyone that goes along!

Flinton Chalk.......is that a made up name?

Mr H

Is he the guy that did the 11 hz thing at megalithomania a few years back? Amazing trip to the Loughcrew images... I was thinking about it just this morning.

Cheers
