is there a good glossary of terms somewhere? I might be the oly one but I get terribly confused between: 'barrow', 'cairn'. 'chambered cairn', 'ring cairn','tumulus', 'burial mound', 'tomb' etc. even the academics seem to use them fairly interchangeably.

also, what's the meaning of life and what are next week's lottery numbers?

thanks

"As Layman Pan'g and Sung-shan were walking together one day they saw a group of monks picking greens. "The yellow leaves are discarded, the green leaves are kept," said Sung-shan.
"How about not falling into green and yellow?" asked the Layman."*

Hope that helps ;-)

Yes. There's the NMR Monument Type Thesaurus:

http://thesaurus.english-heritage.org.uk/thesaurus.asp?thes_no=1

And for a more in-depth description of monument types, there's the Monument Class Descriptions:
