"Don't take this the wrong way, but why would you have a Mac and use IE?"

for the same reason - some sites (like yousendit.com for instance) seem to behave badly with safari

but the widget thing is great - and i hope pc people can get it soon too

will check the rs feeds too!

cheers

When the original Safari came out it was a little dodgy. I have to be careful these days when doing stuff to megalithomania, because Safari does everything that web standards say a browser should. I regularly have to fire up a PC (oh the shame of it!) and check new pages/features in IE6. Stuff like Firefox seem to get it right too, but IE 6 is aweful.

You should give the latest Safari a chance. It's a lot better than it used to be.

I've been thinking about writing a dashboard emulator for the PC, but frankly I can't be arsed and some other geek will do it sooner or later anyway :-) There is a way that PC folks can use them, though, but it's not as impressive as dashboard.

According to the BBC, desktop widgets are on their way.

I've just installed the widget on my <cough> other Mac (sorry BigSweetie) and the images are displayed compressed to one side. It worked fine on the machine I wrote them on. Do they display ok on yours? I 'spose it could be because the first image was a narrow one - I shall investigate tonight, but I'd appreciate knowing if it behaved propoerly for you. Thanks
