I would broadly describe a giant as a person over the height of 6'6". Is this description satisfactory ?

A little giant perhaps ;-)

The OED defines a giant as, "... an abnormally tall or large person ..." so I guess 6' 6" would qualify. The OED also defines a giant as, "... a person of exceptional ability, integrity, courage etc." That being so I guess we all know a few giants and it's comforting to know they are still amongst us :-)
