Aye, gw mentioned the Guernsey menhir stuff & I had stumbled across it before (not in the 'flesh' unfortunately, YET!!!). It's deffo relevant, I'da thought.

Do you happen to know if there's much said about how connected the academics think they are to the Breton/other French stuff? Even tho the Guernsey stuff I've seen seems (to me) so much more 'naturalistic', I guess it probly adds credence to the breasts/necklaces idea.

Interesting about the Grrek thang. It wasn't particularly the 'multiple pairs' that I mentioned testes were mentioned in relation to. Tbh tho, I don't think me (or J) were really putting nads forward as a serious alternative explanation - just as an example of another thing the smaller carvings in could VAGUELY represent as they're (roughly!) round & in pairs.
