My house mate has just come back from walking the West Highland Way (walked the whole thing over two weeks). He said that midges weren't that much of a problem (could be a little too early, I don't know) but he had huge problems with ticks!! He camped and was infested by them on numerous occasions. Had to stop off at a B & B one night and get the landlady to help him remove them off his back!!! She then gave him a dettol bath!! ;o) So maybe pack a tick remover!!
