Ancient Monuments

They bide their time of serpentine
Green lanes, in fields, with railings
Round them and black cows; tall, pocked
And pitted stones, grey, ochre-patched
With moss, lodgings for lost spirits.

Alexander Thom (1894-1985)

Dunno if this has been mentioned before , so apologies if so , but the poem above was written by John Ormond from "Definition of a waterfall ", not Alexander Thom .

Thanks tiompan - never was able to confirm it was by Thom (which is going to be a great disappointment to a lot of people).

Tried to find the poem on the internet under John Ormand/Definition of a waterfall but can only get the names coming up. Do you have a link that I can go to that shows the poem with John Ormand as its author?
