Tell me, his book?, is it worth seeking out?

whose? Watkins' or Thoms? I'd say so. Watkins' leys have little at all to do with the modern climate on such things - but considering his works are some of the earliest books on "ancient sites/linear alignments", they need a good looking at.

Alexander Thom's book Megalithic Sites In Britain I would suggest is essential. While he suggests an objective and statistical approach to understanding the stone circles - which is what the book is mainly concerned with - it's clear from the text that he had a very subjective, intuitive, approach to the landscape which helped form his views.
