We quite liked it. Though I thought they dwelt on the wolf behaviour thing a bit too long.

He came up with some great lines about the propaganda war waged on The Old Ways by the R*mans and the Chr*stians which made us smile and cheer.

I agree with the wolves bit...why did he have to go into the cage?

The worshiping of sexual images...does it not still go on in non christian countries, walking round Nepal there are many images of male and female genitalia.....or will this be covered in future episodes.

Just because you are buried with your horse ....it may well have been your most prized possesion, the White horses carved into hillsides shows what they felt about them...

sorry im ramblling..

best prog on telly last night though..

Us too. It's a good sign that he knows something about the subject. I got a bit annoyed about the constant references to Anglo-Saxon and Viking Paganism, but I guess they did write stuff down in a way that their predecessors didn't. Handy from the anthropological angle, but I think he does mix and match his cultures a bit too much.

Apart from that, and that repeated sequence of the man having sex with a horse, it was great!

Notice how I don't complain about the repeated clip of naked women being thrashed in the sauna. Who cares about authenticity!
