Well if you need the other functions like note taking then take a look at: http://www.garmin.com/products/iQue3600/ though no O/s maps :(

Yea, I looked at that, but as you say, no OS maps and it's a more expensive solution than a PDA (which I can get at trade prices) and a GPS adapter.
