GPS

Hi Steve,

Looking for a similar solution myself.

In my case the PDA is more important though, as it has to have a proper keybaord and cost as little as possible.

I envisage saving a set of maps and the air view phot of the area on a CF memory card and view it from an application within the PDA.

Although I could connect the PDA to a GPS, I'm not sure this is just a bit of complexity, when all I need is to type in the location from the GPS onto the record for the site, and since GPS are not too accurate unless you have a mil-chip I've decided on the E-Trex since it's cheap.

There are plenty of reasonably-priced WAAS enabled GPS units around. These have a quoted accuracy of around 3m. I'm assuming that WAAS works in the UK since they ARE being advertised with this capability.
