Hi all,

just to let you all know that I've just been elected to the Council of the National Trust.

I'm only 1 of 52 people on the Council, and with a Governance Review just going through it won't be as powerful as before, but still it's a start, and a bit of a voice for some people who don't have much of a voice at present.

wish me well over the next three years, and email me with any issues you have. Please don't expect a magic wand, especially at the start (I'll need to learn who's who, what goes where, etc ) but I will do my best.

Congrats & good luck PJ - nice to know someone'll be there who's interested in 'our stuff', 1 of 52 or not!

The fact that it's someone who's so eloquent & knowledgeable is a real bonus!!! (Flattery'll get me everywhere....)

Woohooo!!!

Congratulations Pure Joy!

(Now, if I slip you a fiver can you get me and Morfeticia arranged with NT rented property in the Dunster or Holnicote area?)

Seriously, good luck, hope you can win over some sense and encourage some action, well done!

Great! That is terrific and I wish you well. I'm sure you will be a voice worth hearing and will be heard.

On the other hand...now we know who to blame! :)

Congratulations Pure Joy. That's quite a feat. Good luck with your work on the inside.

a Heritage Action mole!

well done & good luck.

Thanks everyone....I'll periodically report back anything of interest and please feel free to alert me of anything you feel is important

Heh, I sound like I'm leaving TMA - I'm not - I'll still be posting and getting out to loads of amazing ancient sites

Congratulations first of all!

This can only be a good thing.

Hows about really putting the wind up 'em at your first meeting by mentioning the painting of the Big Brother logo by the Uffington White Horse last summer and how much offence it caused?

Just a suggestion...

:-)
