Don't know about the logo, but the quote is from Judges 14:14 in the King James Version of the bible:

Judges 14
14 And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.

So that's fairly old!

I can remember that particular logo and motto from the very early 60's, so it's at least 40 years old.
