It’s resources wot does it. And our sense of Us. Personally, I think Yorkshiremen are the real enemy. The Mad Bitch would have done more good sailing her armada up there than down to the South Atlantic.

It's interesting to note how this thread began with personal feelings about 'spirit' and inexorably became one about war! I think that's more to do with where we are today in our minds. I've been obsessed with discussing the ratifications and injustices of war for the last 18 months, and I've noticed how it's changed me to a degree. I'm far more withdrawn and defensive. As without so within?
