I shall look forward to reading it, Moth.

Moths are, for me, powerfully symbollic. Its a power animal thang. I'm scared to death of them (aren't we all scared of our power?). I love the way they love the light. I'm fascinated by their obsession, plunging blindly into the fire. Such is their love for the light that they have to stay hidden from the Sun, whose beauty is too great for them. The untouchable Moon is their true love, and every night they try to kiss her gentle light, forever beyond their grasp.

God, TomBo

...they have to stay hidden from the Sun, whose beauty is too great for them. The untouchable Moon is their true love, and every night they try to kiss her gentle light, forever beyond their grasp...

that's BEAUTIFUL!

I once did illustrations for a poem called 'the Lesson of the Moth' written by Don Marquis which featured in his Archy and Mehitabel poetry books. It was gorgeous and in the end the Moth was so in love with the flame, it killed itself by flying into it because it couldn't resist anymore....

Anyway, back to weblogs. I use them as:
*expanded fieldnotes
*diary/journal entry
*record of the journey itself
*other stuff what i saw (eg van Gogh related)
*who I did it with (in the 'travelled there with' sense, rather than 'who I shagged' sense)
*a creative means of verbal expression which I can share with others rather than keep tucked away in a scummy notebook/sketchbook

So do your own thing, babe. Make it YOURS. It's all valid. Just mention a big old rock and you'll be fine.
