Just a different story really but up and down the country there are modern stone circles hiding in people's gardens.
This one has just come on the market, a bit pricey.

'Shown on OS map as Temple. A replica stone circle built as a folly about 1850-60 for the owner of The Quinta. Made out of limestone blocks and similar in plan to Stonehenge. Many of the uprights have drill-holes and the lintels are fixed by means of iron ties. The stone circle is partially ruinous but this may well have been the original intention.'

Think there is another folly on the Pembrokeshire coast, and one somewhere round Avebury.

And another where I go MDing at Morwellham Quay Moss! Been up about 10 years I believe alongside the old disused track from the River Tamar to the chapel on the top of the hill. They could film the next Detectorists there and it wouldn't look out of place!

The Anwoth Isosceles has turned out to be a modern stone triangular folly construction which actually features a real cup and ring marked stone.

Quinta's in Burl (as a fake/folly) along with a few other ones. Bit out of my price range.

And of course many a Welsh town has its Eisteddfod Gorsedd stones...

Up in North Yorks near Masham there is an estate (Skipton Castle) whose grounds are stuffed full of megalithic follies, Druids Temple is pretty famous now but in the castle gardens there is no end of different "megalithic" stone structures. Mainly inspired by Carnac I think.

Slightly cheating, cos it's not made of stone, but always a pleasure to see in this lovely part of the country... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-35410668

The housing estate where my sister lives in Amesbury has a little stone circle built at the same time.
I also noticed they have one at Lands End with all the other horrible modern tat when I visited the week before last!

There's a nice 13 stone circle in a field bordering the moor near Kes Tor on Dartmoor. I first noticed it back in 2004 and it looked quite well established then.

There's a small modern circle on the outskirts of Birmingham on a traffic roundabout near Saltley/Alum rock. Been there about 10 years now. Was more noticeable when the roundabout was smaller, has been widened in recent-ish years.
