Mound behind wall, the wall is about 2.5m high so mound must 5-6m high at least.
There may be some cairn material piled up against this rock, Im not convinced though.
The rock formation with the cairn on Laghtshanaquilla in the gap.
Only just noticed this on the pic, is that a head and body lying down!
A path runs alongside the cairn and stones have been piled up on either side
The cairn is hard to make out on the hill itself but comes out pretty well in this picture
Looking along the row the nearest two have fallen. They seem to be looking south-west, north-east
Pretty ordinary standing stone bout a metre high
Barrow looking out towards the hills, on the horizon just above the pitch, you cant really see them with the cloud cover
The cairn is built up on some of these large natural rocks, the little cave like feature is called “The seat of Fionn”
Cairn with unusual stone marker, this stone seemingly was put up here by a local sculptor.
This red/purple sandstone? to me seemed very different to the rest of the stone used here, I know that there is a standing incorporated into the centre of one of the Cairns in Loughcew could this be something similar?
An example of some of the quartz around the site which would may have a similar function to Newgrange (If that function is really understood).
