This is a fabulous site. It is another where you follow the map and think you have missed the plot only to find this Welsh wonder.
I bumped into Robin Williamson locally and I told him I had been the previous week to see these stones, he casually replied that the Incredible String band used to live near here. Of course I knew that they had made a film and part of it was here (Be Glad etc)
I found this by driving across Gelligaer common towards Deri and looking for the stone without a map, I looked along the horizon and felt the vibe and then saw the stone.
I'll post some pics soon, Deri was Julian's home town as a very young drude was it not?

43 years old and visiting more and more stones all the time, some may think I submit too many pics of the sites I visit, and I haven't visited many difficult sites yet, but I am a beginner, I've always been interested since I visited Stonehenge in the 70's when you could walk around the stones there. Then that TV show with old Copey turned me onto the book and the website and my couple of visits to the obvious sites in Cornwall and locally looked a bit sick. So I promise I will get the Ordnance map out and the compass and trek a bit for my art. I love photography and really enjoy trying to get a good pic of the stones and appreciate that I can be spoiling someones vibe at the stones as much as they are bugging me and praps we should all chill out a bit, weird that sometimes you get a place to yourself and other times its like rush hour.
Love the stones, and I keep looking at my local maps for the unphotographed locally.
