I could spend hours here and probably will next time round. Quiet – very quiet.. shhhh.

*Notice in the foreground a climber on the rock face adjacent to the rock art.
I cant stop seeing faces – can you spot one touching noses with Fat Tony?
9/3/03 – got here on a good day – something had carefully pulled the growing crops or etched a triangle in the ground beyond.
9/3/03 – This big stone lies a couple of yards away from the remaining standing monument.
9/3/03 – what you could spot from the road – if your lucky!

A bit misleading this sign – its now thought that the the Normans adapted this mound to suit their needs. Worth a look if you’re in the area. Besides its a lovelly village with a couple of nice pubs.

The shadow of bryn celli ddu gorsedd looking towards bryn celli ddu. Looks to resemble the mound itself.
Could this be an offering stone and monolith?

I happened to get these markings by chance by putting my arm through the site enhancing (?) metal gate and clicking on the camera in hope. It was a pleasent surprise to see when I got home and downloaded the image.

The site itself is not in good repair, but its peaceful here in pleasent surroundings, you cannot mistake this spot once spotted and find yourself drawn to it across the field past where the sheep graze.
I am amazed that we found this site, situated next to a cricket ground, some waste land and behind a church who’s walls couldn’t be any closer ( a familiar story), not sure what it would look like without the ground cover, but quite pretty with it.
*NB-Notice the family sledging on the banks of the monument
