Garth Standing Stone (Standing Stone / Menhir) — Fieldnotes

An interesting looking stone covered in distictive spots and stripes which reminds me a little bit of the stone inside Bryn Celli Ddu.

It would be interesting to learn more about the name Cadair Elwa. I suspect Elwa (as in Llanelwy, Vale of Elwy) is a personal name and cadair means seat as in stronghold or homestead.

Cerrig Pryfaid (Stone Circle) — Folklore

Pryfaid means flies in modern Welsh, but in old Welsh it means animals or sometimes livestock.

Coed y Brain (Ancient Village / Settlement / Misc. Earthwork) — Fieldnotes

You can get to the site along a disused railway line, marked as a heritage path, which runs south from Rhostryfan.

The entrance to the main hut looks towards Dinas Dinlle hill fort a couple of miles away on the coast.
The trees were in the way, otherwise I would have taken a picture.
