Bryn Celli Ddu

Chambered Cairn

Bryn Celli Ddu (Chambered Cairn) by Rupert Soskin The standing stone in the chamber showing the bark textures of petrified wood. The split bark is clearly visible revealing underlying woodgrain. It is also possible that the oval shape of smoother texture at upper right is where a branch was removed. The ridges running across the oval are characteristic of a series of strikes... certainly what my wood chopping looks like.
