Fieldnotes
| About 200m from the mound nearby. This is a tall standing stone of about 2m high. Unusually for its size it is not marked on the OS map. Drove past here recently on the way to check out St. Ailbes well in Emly. I had to do a double take when I didnt see the familiar sight of the standing stone. On the way back I investigated it and it looks as though it has been hit by lightening and broken up. The stone itself was charred where it split. I was glad to have seen it when it was still standing. |
