| Thedorsetpage.com Dudsbury Camp, an ancient site overlooking the Stour, from which the Ancient Britons guarded the ford across the river. Although Dudsbury was named after a Saxon called Dude, it was first fortified by men 150 years before the birth of Christ. Today it is still a camp, but for a more friendly people. Girl Guides fill its vast sward each summer with giggling girls singing around camp fires. |
