The esteemed archaeologist Dr Murray Cook has a busy time overseeing his Stirling tenure, though his influence and responsibilities also extend as far as Clackmannanshire and even North Lanarkshire. His talk on the historical importance of the Fords of Frew, in February this year, was a complete sell out. All tickets sold. The Smith Art Gallery and Museum in Stirling was stowed to the gunnels, a packed lecture hall, people listening on stairs and folks turned away at the door. A fine chap.
