We walked through the forest to it from the train station. It was a weekday in school holidays. We arrived just before 12 so we had to wait an hour before we could go down due to their lunch break. There were 5 other people there who arrived over lunch, two of whom went down while we were down the mine. By the time we left there were a couple of other cars. It's quite off the beaten track so I guess it doesn't get so many people who are passing through to somewhere else. You go down a long ladder with a hard hat. Not difficult at all but if you suffer from vertigo, balance or mobility issues or claustrophobia it's not for you. Otherwise it's great - shame you can't get into the tunnels and galleries though.
Sounds great. Though I'm not great with heights or tight spaces, I like to think I could hopefully put on a brave face and give it a go, it does look pretty exciting.
The tight spaces aren't very tight, you can only get the tunnel entrances - this shot is taken through the grill. In terms of mine experience, I'd pick the Great Orme mine over this one as there is a lot more that's accessible to the visitor.
