I've just picked up that the Sanday Archaeology Group are back at the site excavating. On the previous dig they found a corbelled aperture underneath the stone water tank and they're hoping it stays dry enough to investigate further. They uncovered the hole again yesterday and hope to discover more soon. Check out their progress on their FB page, if you're as intrigued as me. Posted by tomatoman

Aperture now confirmed as the second well in the vicinity. Plant material and bone found in bottom will hopefully date this one..........may be Neolithic Posted by tomatoman
