Two new books are to be released this month by the Cornwall Historic Enviroment team. One looks at the landscape and archaeology of the West Penwith moors whilst the other may raise a few eyebrows here..its about managing the landscape in the far west. Cows and stones...do they mix?
Interesting books but rather expensive. There has been a lot of anger about the cows on West Penwith moors, and the fencing off of part of the moors. They have long horns which surely must do some damage. There is a short clip about a loose stone at Tregeseal Stone Circle on Youtube which must have been 'rubbed' by the cows.
I see the books had financial help from EH, could that be because they were trying to justify the new management?
