Wonder if it'll reference the old Jon Pertwee one that was based at Silbury? (Doctor Who and the Daemons, I believe it was called - ah yes! Gawd bless the internet! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJTyrJs-6Vs)
Ocht I'll be giving my age away here... but the Doctor Who story "The Daemons" wasn't based at Silbury - it was based in the village of Devil's End. I dont know if there is a place in England actually called that... I'm not very familiar with England.
Anyway, in the story Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart instructs one of his men (from UNIT) to open fire on a demon "Jenkins... chap with wings, there. Five rounds rapid."
Brilliant!
"The wind, playing upon the edifice, produced a booming tune, like the note of some gigantic one-stringed harp. No other sound came from it, and lifting his hand and advancing a step or two, Clare felt the vertical surface of the structure. It seemed to be of solid stone, without joint or moulding. Carrying his fingers onward he found that what he had come in contact with was a colossal rectangular pillar..."
Interestingly the Polanski film of Tess of the Durbervilles wasn't filmed at Stonehenge, as Polanski feared extradition, and a replica was built in Morienval in Northern France. I wonder if anyone kept the replica as it would have been a great addition to your back garden!
I vaguely recall a sci-fi prog(possibly 70's), which might've been called SKY where the climax was set in SH.
Just as a point of interest...there was an area in Dundee(the bottom of South Tay St. I think) called Devil's Green.
