This hillfort is on accessible land (under the CRoW act), and when it was surveyed it was found that there was “a previously unknown Neolithic stone setting approximately 300m north-west of the hillfort. The setting comprises two upright and four fallen stones set in a roughly rectangular pattern. These monuments are currently thought to be unique to Exmoor and are seen as part of the late Neolithic/early Bronze Age ceremonial landscape of the moor. ”

Abhainn na Sròine is the name of the river that runs into the bay, Poll a’ Cheo. The chambered cairn, Cladh Chlainn Ian, lies alongside it just above an old cliff line.

Wonderful place to explore if you want to escape from people! Real mixture of landscapes from flooded pits to mysterious swamps where lichen and ferns add an almost prehistoric feel to the place.
Although much of the wetter bits are covered by boardwalks it is advisable to go in wellys or boots.

Records an alignment of eight stones extending for 7.0m. Six stones are apparently undisturbed and the largest of these stands 0.51m high.
