I see these stones have no problem attracting the birds!
Perparing to migrate perhaps ... do they migrate, I'm not sure. Starlings in great numbers are always a spectacular sight. Starlings at Stonehenge is poetry (perhaps).
A lovely picture like that is probably better than words anyway!
I think it could be that they're all back, rather than getting ready to go? Hence they're doing the tourist sites before they settle in for the winter maybe. It was nice to see them in your photo.
