Thanks for introducing me to Hamish Fulton Rhiannon, did not know about him but again someone who makes walking a meditation.
But have just listened to 'The Old Ways' by Macfarlane on the 9.45 slot this morning on the radio. He is' the man of the month' at the moment, his prose bordering on Edward Thomas and though he does not write predominately about prehistory he is very much aware of its presence in the landscape, and this morning the chapter was a walk along the Icknield Way sleeping by neolithic barrows...
Hopefully he will do the Scottish islands chapter, about the Manus path, he actually changed my mind quite a lot about so called modern cairns in the landscape, there is a need to mark our pathways through life and maybe through walking as well.
