Since we are on the subject of festivals, Henge Warriors are looking to run a Nine Ladies festival in 2007. This years Thornborough Festival was so good, we thought it would be good to add another festival to our armoury.

Any peeps in bands that might like to get involved??

Main Release:

Music and festivals club “Henge Warriors” have announced that they are to hold a music festival in support of the Nine Ladies protest. The festival will be held in the Peak District, not far from the Nine Ladies stone circle in 2007 and Henge Warriors are asking for local volunteers to help organise and run the festival.

Henge Warriors are primarily musicians and fans that hold a deep respect for ancient sites such as Nine Ladies stone circle and for the environment. Membership of Henge Warriors is free and musicians that join henge warriors get the opportunity to be promoted as part of a number of Henge Warriors events such as Thornborough Festival and a number of gigs held around the country.

The Nine Ladies festival will follow a similar format to Thornborough Festival, which this year included 65 bands spread over three days and three stages, entrance to the Nine Ladies festival will be for club members only and will be very low cost (c. £15.00).

“We found that a festival for Thornborough was an inspiration for a great many music fans and acts, we are certain the same positive response will come for Nine Ladies” Said club Chairman George Chaplin “Henge Warriors already has more than 150 member bands and we hope local acts will come forward to participate in the Nine Ladies event”.

“This will help local musicians raise profile as well as allowing groups such as the Nine Ladies campaigners to spread their message and raise funds”.

More details of Henge Warriors are available via the club website www.hengewarriors.com.

Henge Warriors is a club for musicians and music lovers, club members organise music performances and festivals in support of campaigns aimed at saving ancient sites such as Thornborough Henges and Nine Ladies.
