Was visiting Derbyshire a few weeks ago, and amongst others, went to experience the Nine Ladies, in the Peak National Park. Wonderful. Long walk through forest but weeeeeeel worth it!
However.
We got chatting to a bloke there (looked suspiciously like the keyboard player in the Damned - but what the hay) who told us the quarry owners had plans afoot to demolish the stones.
What! Seems totally unbelievable does it not. But NO, something to do with the local council - planning concents, land ownerships, active and dormant sites etc etc, red tape city!
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this. The bloke had paperwork to do with it, and there were quite a few camps in the forest where protesters had made their temporary homes.
Any information, anyone?
