The Devil's Arse in Castleton

is it honestly called that? Great!

Utterly amazing, superb, and the town around the mouth of the cavern is stunning too. Worth a visit [and try to make a rope using old technology] - featured a few months back on Countryfile too [I have the episode stashed somewhere].

There's a Bod an Deamhain ,translated = Devils Penis in the Cairngorms but most maps have it as Devil's Point ,Harveys being the exception . Becky's Doup in Kincardineshire is a hill name meaning Rebecca's arse .
We seem to haev lost al ot of that stuff due to puritanism then Victorianis m. Wheatear for whitearse is another loss .

If it's peni you're looking for, Poole's Cavern in Buxton is the place to go. Old lime kilns on Grin Low are directly above the caves, and the seepage over the years has resulted in stalacmites that resemble erm...rather well-endowed, uncut and erect appendages. They really have to be seen to be believed. They also make the 'millions of years old' tag redundant, as they are only a few hundred years old.
