Avebury restored would need the village removing to be authentic. Josh Pollard's surname is that of system of woodland management where vigorous trees are cut at head (polled) and the wands that regenerate are then cut for fuel or poles. Pollard willows form avenues beside some downland rivers though the technique has mainly been lost after agricultural intensification. It's similar to coppicing but with the difference that grazing animals may be included in the early phases. It's ideal for producing biomass from a well fertilised plot.

Are there other people (beside myself and Josh) with arboreal terms in their surnames ?
