Ken and myself finally visited the wonderful panel at Crannagh the other day. As we were looking around the hillside we were commenting on how likely it is that there is more around and about. So, while Ken was taking some great shots and after I'd finished taking some poor ones, I set off to look around.

One of my first choices was the largest rock on the hillside, just 50m away from the known panel. I think the whoop of joy I let out was probably heard in Carlow itself! I couldn't believe it - two cup-and-rings and a few more cups! My first ever rock art discovery :-)

Sadly, they are so badly eroded and in such an awkward place on the rock that not even Ken could get them to stand out very well :-(

Nice one Tom, would be good to see any pic..

its a nice feeling isn't it..

Good on yer Mr FW. Now seems to be a truly fine time for Irish Prehistoric Rock Art. Here's to hoping the next year brings lotsa nice new discoveries.

Some snazzy photos of the recorded Crannagh panel by Mr Williams too. Even if the photos of the new one seem a bit indistinct, send them up to the web anyway, you know what us RA-heeds are like. We will appreciate even the vaguest of vague CnRs. Especially if they're new finds.

nice find FW.
Have you tried Wobblevision?
