I'll be a little contraversial here though and say that personally I'm not too bothered by most of the previously unseen archaeology. Yes, I care about it, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE STUFF THAT WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT THAT PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT!!!

There are monuments in fields that are being left to become overgrown and lost. What about these? People suddenly start caring when the route of a road that they don't want built near to their house suddenly comes across some hidden archaeology. If you ask many of these what they did about the general situation before this they can't really answer you.

This is why I leave the anti-road protests to these people. They have the energy and the personal involvement that will see the job through, but once that battle is over and it moves from their doorstep a great many of them will go back into their bungalows and get on with their lives.

There are so many great monuments that need help and intervention so that they can be preserved that I know that if the ones in the path of the Tara/Skryne motorway, for instance, are saved from the bulldozer then they will be forgotten and neglected within 10 years ...
