Bilbob Abroad

close

In the space of 24 hours my world has been turned upside down and I have been offered an incredible job, to start next week, in Brighton.

As I am a bilbob and rarely stray out of Oxfordshire, this is an area I am completely unfamiliar with. I will be living a in a hotel to begin with, but once I am down and have rented somewhere I shall have time on my hands at the weekends.

I went on to the TMA site map and apart from the Long Man of Wilmington, I haven't heard of many of the sites. What shouldn't be missed and what recommendations would any of you, who have visited East or West Sussex, give me?

Thanks in advance

Cheers
JS

there is a lot in Sussex.
I lived in Brighton where there is the remains of a stone circle near the pier (now clustered under the dolphin statue on the levels.)
There is a pub on the beach which has a large stone on the cellar floor which once stood on the beach.
Hollingbury hill fort is worth a visit as is Cissbury.
There are longbarrows above the longman of Wilmington and another a few miles back.
2 more at Devils dyke.
There are stones in Hove park and in Patcham fields.
Pick up a few guide books when you get there.

Dunno about Sussex, Jack - don't think it's got much 'Hollywood' stuff, but congrats on the job!!!!

Cheers for the response gents. I shall be off radar now for a couple of weeks whilst I get lap tops and log ins sorted at my new employers'.

TMA Eds - Do I have to advise you of new e-mail address as you have my work one at the moment? Or does it not matter much?

Many thanks
