Anyone see last nights time team? A tiny wee henge lined up on a tiny wee menhir a post and the exinoxes through a notch created by two hills at the end of a loch.
Plus Francis Pryor going on about the realm of the ancestors (again).
Any views?

I saw it... I loved the fact that locals kept coming up and offering information eg where the treasure was found; where the path to the crannog was etc

I bet they had a right laugh at the tv lot!! ;-)

.o0O0o.

Yeah, I saw that tiny wee henge thing. In all, I thought it was one of the better Time Teams that I've seen.... Tony Robinson does my head in a bit tho'... calm down puppy!!

Thought it was good that they looked into the wider issue of landscape settings, but even from the beginning I was shouting, "Crannogs are Iron Age" at the tele.... but I guess TT is aimed more at being entertaining TV for the public than us folks with an interest.

I don't mind Francis Prior so much (I've got his Britain BC book in a pile of 'to read' literature at home). He does seem rather assured of his theories and seems to jump to conclusions quite quickly... but we're probably all guilty of that sometime or other. At least he seems to have a genuine enthusiasm about his subject, n' I suspect he'd be quite good to talk bollocks with in the pub!

That Phil geezer looked a treat in his wet-suit!!!

I watched Time Team last night and they were digging up Iron Age/Roman stuff on the IoW.

Why didn't I get the programme with the tiny henge?

I too thought it was one of the better programmes- especially the whole landscape perspective. I like Pryor- adds a bit more level-headedness to it all as an antidote to the wee nyaff Tony!

It was a good one. Problem is now that everyone will think that Time team invented alignment theory!

There's a 'ring barrow' near to me that's about that size. I always loved the position of it and thought that it was too good for a barrow. Might have to go back and have a closer look.

Missed it, even though my Mum reminded me.
