Myself and Anthony Weir have a small unofficial classification of 'shouldered stone' for these.

are quite common. The Murder Stone is a lot smaller and doesn't have quite the same pronounciation of the shoulder but I was instantly reminded of Tamnaharry.

It makes you wonder if they were originally like that when first erected, or if bits have been hacked off, weathered, etc?

There're quite a few a bit like it aren't there? I'm sure I've seen some, but I can't think where. Avebury got any? At a push could you say Long Meg & one of the Pipers by the Merry Maidens were like it?

Must admit it's never occurred to me that it could be significant.
